David Chinn is a Director (Senior Partner) in McKinsey’s London Office. David leads McKinsey’s global service to Ministries of Defense and co-leads McKinsey’s UK Public Sector Practice. For the last twelve years his area of professional focus has been on the transformation of defence forces and their relationships with their industrial supply base. He has worked extensively with Ministries of Defence in Europe, Asia and South America. He also works with aerospace and defense manufacturers, primarily on operations improvement programmes. In the broader Public Sector, David works on improving functional performance, especially in Finance, IT, Procurement and Data Analytics. Following the earthquake in Haiti in January 2010, David led McKinsey’s pro bono effort to support the disaster recovery and reconstruction, working with President Clinton and the Prime Minister of Haiti. David has a BA from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences, an MSc from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA in Cognitive Psychology and an MBA from INSEAD in France. He is an Honorary Associate Professor, Strategy & Security Institute, Exeter University. David served in the Israel Defense Forces in the Manpower Branch. David is also a Trustee of the National Centre for Circus Arts as well as Chair of the UK Jewish Leadership Council Political Oversight Group.
